Dianna first started gymnastics when her mother decided she had too much energy and was driving her crazy at home. She instantly found her second home in the gym. Besides gymnastics, she is an accomplished snow skier/boarder and water skier. At the age of 7½ Dianna participated in several barefoot water skiing clinics with Keith St Onge (a world champion barefoot water skier) where to his amazement she instantly picked up and excelled at the sport.
Dianna is a junior at Millennium High School where she has been on the Principle’s Honors List since freshman year. Her current course load includes advanced chemistry, 3rd year Spanish and AP English. She also finds time to tutor challenged students at her school. In her spare moments Dianna is prepping for the SAT’s; which she plans to take in the spring. “I feel that my time management has been honed by my gymnastics schedule and that I can handle any timetable thrown at me; both academically and gymnastically”
Dianna has committed to The University of New Hampshire for the 2009-2010 year. She recently competed at the 2008 JO Nationals in Orlando and came in 11th all around, 8th on Bars, and 9th on Floor.
Dianna’s sense of humor is well known at the gym as witnessed at last year’s C.P. Invitational where she shared the master of ceremonies duties with Shannon Miller. Dianna was able to keep the audience laughing while it was waiting for the final scores to be tallied and announced. At the gym and at meets she has the ability to focus on her goals while still keeping her teammates loose and dialing down the tension level that accompanies these competitions.
With her drive and passion for gymnastics Dianna is looking forward to competing gymnastics on a collegiate level.
